This is the story of Diana Dinsdale, who is left with her stepfather after her mother's death and he is determined to marry her off to an American millionaire. Horrified, she runs away and becomes the governess to the brother of Lord Clayton. How she finds love with Lord Clayton and helps him with his problems is the plot of this novel.

This story is about Julia Wood and her new stepmother's insistence for her to marry a neighbor in order to get her out of the house. She makes a pact with the neighbor and borrows his yacht to travel to relatives in Scotland. While there, she finds that the clan is poor and decides to help, all while finding love at the same time!
