Love at First Sight
Love at First Sight is #85 in the Camfield series and was published in September 1990. The Marquis of Rakemoore has just outwitted Queen Victoria by declaring his engagement to a Duke's daughter instead of the German princess she had in mind! The Duke is happy but his daughter, upon hearing the news, goes missing and after an accident, ends up on the Marquis's estate. How he meets her and they discover who each really are is the plot of this romantic novel by Barbara Cartland.
This is a pretty cover of our couple and the little boy who brings them together. It's set in a country kitchen and our heroine is setting out food. She wears a pretty green gown, simply made, with a matching ribbon holding back her hair.

Love is the Key
Love is the Key is #84 in the Camfield series and was published in August 1990. Minerva Linwood's brother loses their home to the Earl of Gorleston in a game of chance. She devises a plot to save it, but gets caught up in another plot against the Earl himself. Can she save her home and find love in the bargain?
This cover is done by an unknown artist. Our heroine wears Victorian dress and has her hair styled from that time period. The loud shawl she has thrown on her shoulders almost looks like a blanket from the back of a couch! She and the hero seem to be urgently conversing. I think the colors used here are almost jarring against each other, which brings me back to the odd shawl!!
BC.com is using the cover of Love Leaves at Midnight https://barbaracartlandbooksandcoverart.blogspot.com/2009/09/ for this novel. This is a Francis Marshall cover. Not sure why they are using different cover art unless the original is unavailable.

The Marquis Wins
The Marquis Wins is #83 in the Camfield series and was published in July 1990. Set in the gambling town of Baden-Baden, the Marquis of Crowle is stunned to meet Daniela, a young heiress, in the garden. She is being married off to her stepmother's lover and he is determined to help her avoid this fate.
We see our couple on the yacht streaming through the countryside. I like the castle in the background and the fact that our hero is dressed as if to sail, but our heroine is in her wedding gown, since he's just rescued her! The cover is intriguing enough to say "pick me up and read me"!

A Revolution of Love
A Revolution of Love is #82 in the Camfield series and was published in June 1990. Thekla is saved by Drogo Forde, a member of Queen Victoria's secret service, during a revolution in Kozan. When he finds out that she is actually the Royal Princess, he has to make sure she stays safe and that he doesn't fall into love with her!
I like this cover of our couple and especially like seeing another brunette heroine! She looks gorgeous in her blue bustle gown and trusts the hero to help her as they escape the building. It seems a quiet picture for a country in revolution and the climbing pink flowers growing nearby give the street a homey touch.

The Necklace of Love
This cover shows our heroine being carried by the hero, as if she has fainted. She wears a modish Victorian styled gown of green, richly decorated, which flatters her red hair. The room they stand in may be the Marquis's chateau, but looks like a museum! It's too bad we don't see the necklace of the title, but I guess that would be too greedy!

A Very Special Love
A Very Special Love is #80 in the Camfield series and was published in April 1990. The Marquis of Okehampton found out that he had inherited a ward who needed to be rescued from a false convent! So he jumps onto his yacht and travels to Cornwall to meet Zia, who is being coerced because of her fortune! The next thing to do is to marry her off, but the Marquis becomes concerned because his ward is rich and because, just maybe, he wants her for his own!
We see on the cover the rescue of our heroine, who is still wearing her nuns robe as they climb onto the yacht that carries them off to safety. They seem to finally look at each other and this looks like a happy moment. I like the setting of the wharf and the ship in the background.
